My name is Giacomo Guadagna. I was born in Sicily, and Tuscany adopted me about 15 years ago.
I got a MA in Musicology at University of Bologna and I've always been attracted by musical instruments and ethnomusicology. By following this path, I ended up exploring the field of lutherie for both bow and plucked string instruments at Scuola di Liuteria di Pieve di Cento (Bologna).
In the years that followed, I attended multiple advanced training courses.
I chose to live fully immersed into nature and the countryside of Arezzo, under the shade of Montecchio Castle where I built my own workshop. Here I make my Classical and Acoustic guitars. All of my instruments are conceived, designed and built so that they can last over time. Each of them carries stories of tenacity and passion, fire and powerful storms. They all tell a story. Stories in which the balance between sound and aesthetic properties are the foundation of my work.
I like the idea that my customers are not only customers. Indeed, they form a large orchestra which is actually using my instruments to play a symphony. A piece of music which is being played right now.
My work is now highly considered in Europe, US and Asia and each year I take part in some of the most important International exhibitions in this field. Only to mention a few, I showed my instruments at Roma Guitars Expo and Music China.
